OUR APPROACH

Farming is the only industry that has the ability to generate the 3 basic needs of life. It can clean the air through carbon sequestration, it can hold and clean more water reducing flooding and protecting from drought, and it can produce amazing quality food for us to become healthier.

This is why we are a family farm on a mission to change the future on our farm, we believe that there is a future for farmers, that we are able to run a successful business which helps serve our local community. We have started to look at our farm as a whole enterprise rather than fighting the fires that arise because our focus is too narrow. So with the help of new technology, advances in science and some good old fashioned faith we started making changes. We became part of The Soil Carbon Project in 2017. This started to open our eyes up to the idea that if we look after our soils, which is the substance which all life pertains from, then we could improve the health of our environment, sequestering carbon, encouraging more farmland birds, insects and wild life, whilst increasing the quality of meat that we produce.

OUR STORY

This is the Turchington Farm team, comprising of Andrew and Melanie Kneebone. Then there is Leanne, Andrew and daughter Hayley Barriball. Just down the road lives Granny Vera, Martin, Megan and their children Elouise, Sophia, Poppy and Alexander Kneebone. Everyone does their share to make things work!

The family have farmed here since 1901 so are 4th, 5th and 6th generation famers, the 6th being all the little young farmers that have come along.

TESTIMONIALS

Had a large Turchington beef joint with all the family for our New Year roast. A very lean joint that melts in the mouth and is also very, very tasty. All round fantastic & thoroughly recommended

All I can say is this farms meats are amazing!! About 8 years ago I suffered with severe inflammation and research of things that could help included avoiding eating meat from corn fed animals. I didn't really know if it would make a difference or not but thought no harm in trying! I happened to be chatting to Leanne who told me about her farm and I decided to give it a try. As it happens for other reasons too I wont ever go back to buying meat from the shop while I can buy from Turchington Farm. The beef is delicious, so much flavour and so tender. I've shared with my extended family who have commented on its quality and flavour too and they much prefer this meat to shop bought ones. I also believe it has played it's part in helping me reduce inflammation in my system along with other things I've done to reduce toxins within my system. Also Leanne is such a lovely person and so knowledgeable in her field. She has a passion and drive to deliver the best quality meat from animals that have had the best life they could have on her farm. Highly recommend giving them a try
